He's 1!!!!

It's hard to believe it's been a whole year! Last Christmas I couldn't wait for him to get here. Now He's walking. He's so much fun right now. He's so much more interactive. He has said his first word. DUCK.  He's so happy in the morning. He's over loaded with toys since Christmas and his birthday are so close. He jabbers a lot these days. Sometimes we wonder if he is singing. We started meats a month ago and just switched to cows milk. Now to try peanut butter and honey. He has six teeth. We need to get him in for his 12 month check up then we'll know how much he weighs. Everywhere we go he gets the attention of someone and they always come up to talk to him.

We had  a fairly simple birthday party. Cupcakes and ice cream. A few friends and some family and two computers. We are so grateful for Skype. Nautica, Grandma and Grandpa Thompson were able to join the festivities this way. We sang happy birthday to him then Chris helped him blow out his candle. He's a rather cautious little fella. He didn't go crazy on the cupcake. Chris helped him get started. He really didn't make too big of a mess! He really liked all of his presents!

Getting read for his party.
Just a few of the nick names we have for him.

Baby's first Christmas season

Little buddy loves the lights everywhere and of course the ornaments everywhere. He loves the things hanging from the ceiling of every store we go into. We have a gate around our tree. It's metal and taller than the baby. He stays out but we can still enjoy the beauty of it. I took a few photos of out little man playing with some extra lights we have. He loved it!

First day!

It was the first day at my new job! It felt so good to wear scrubs again! So far the job isn't too difficult. I need to become familiar with each facility a little better, but I think that will come with time. Chris and I have decided we need to set up a home office. (Maybe in the guest room.) I'll be getting a work computer, printer, and more. I think I may need a place to get some quiet so I can focus on work while at home. Our computer is in the kitchen right now. I get a little distracted in the kitchen. I will be going to MN in Jan. for training. Ask me if I'm excited to go back to MN after my traveling assignment this time of year? Oh well, at least they'll be putting me up and paying for meals. Here's to quick training!

Kinda glad I didn't get rid of my paper crafting products when we moved.

When I lived in St. George, I was an AVID scrapbooker!  I was part of a stamping club and even scrapbooked for work on a monthly basis. When I moved to SLC I took it all with me but moved on to sewing to fill my spare time. I have always kept the stuff on hand if I ever had a hankering.

Now that I am in San Antonio I still sew my guts out, but today I needed to wrap one of those sewing projects for a gift. I did get rid of all of my wrapping paper for the move. I didn't really want to spend money on wrapping paper right now so I took to my paper crafting supplies.

My first complete machine quilted quilt.

I love to hand quilt but I don't have quilting frames. (Sad, I know) I do have a great quilting sewing machine. It came with a walking foot. ($$$) I hadn't really used it so I thought I would give it a try. Machine quilting is not as easy as one might think. The quilt is puckered every now and again on the back but I was going for a Shabby Chic look. What do you think?
