When you want them, you WANT them!

I had a craving for my mom's homemade rolls. Since mom lives 300 miles away and doesn't have the time to bake for me I just called her and asked for her recipe. As much as I like to bake, I don't do well with bread or dough of many kinds. My first question to my mother was, "do you think I can handle this?" She told me that this recipe came from my great, great, great grandmother. She suggested that if they could tackle this back then I should be able to handle it...............

The dough is pretty sticky. There were a few curse words!

AHH so golden brown

and here is a roll with aunt Sheril's chicken salad recipe.
I was so excited they turned out! I needed a little bright successful spot in my day today. My husband and I have had a few already. They are so good warm.

Time for sewing is hard to find these days!

While in St. George I started a couple of sewing projects! I needed some embroidery done and my sister and mother have an embroidery machine. I finished Hudson's blanket there. Tonight Chris watched the baby for me so I could get some time to finish another car seat cover. (Not that I need more)

This turtle material was so cute I couldn't resist it! This blanket is quite big for him. Hopefully he will still like it when he's older.
I thought it would be cute to put his name on it.
I've heard that black and white designs are good for baby's developing eyes. If not, it's cute anyway.
Thought I would be a little different and put his last name on it.

This blanket was easy. Roll hem on the edge and it's done. Super soft and cozy.

Our 3$ find

I have been looking for a floor gym for Hudson. They run 45 to 75 dollars new in stores. I had been skimming KSL.com, they had little to nothing. I had been to Kid to Kid several times. While in St. George we went to the D.I. with my sister. Sheena says "look Shaunette". I turned around and she had this in her hand. There wasn't a price on it so we asked a guy who worked there. He came back and said it's three dollars! STEAL. It didn't have any of the toys, but hey I could replace them for that price.
It still had the musical light box. Still working. We haven't even changed the batteries! (Break out the disinfectant!)
While at Wal-mart today I picked up some toys that could be hung with the plastic rings I already had. We're set! Hudson loves it! I love that I got it cheap!

A little time away

We went to St. George this last weekend to see some family. I spent much of our time with my sister Sheena and her kids. Chris played at the shop with his car. We didn't see much of Mom, she's a little too busy for family these days. It's always fun to see Nautica. She loves seeing her new brother.
Nautica had so much fun with her baby brother. She loves to carry him in his carrier.
These boys are only 1 1/2 months apart. They will have lots of fun getting together as the grow.
"Show my your teeth!"

Time for a little change.

These are pillows I made for Chris before we got married. They've faded a bit but still used on our couch now. When I recovered the blue chair I had enough material to recover some pillows too.
The new pillows are now envelope style so it will be much easier to remove the cover and wash them. Hudson loves to stare at the new pillows. I think it's the busy pattern.

Lots of SNOW!

We woke up to too much snow this morning! The dogs love romping in the snow. It was a heavy snow. It really weighed down the trees.  It made for a very pretty morning.
