As many know, Texas is in a severe drought right now. Although the homes are landscaped with dead lawns now, I found Texas country charming.
Everyone told me to expect the humidity to be miserable. It felt more like walking outside in St. George summer temperatures after it rains. I'll admit I felt the difference on the plane while still in the sky. After my first shower there it didn't bother me so much! It was HOT, I'll give it that. On Friday we floated down the Comal River. WOW. That was super fun. Nothing to do or see, but sit in a "toob" and stare at each other for a few relaxing hours!
Matt and Nicole are amazing hosts! Their house really feels like a home. We had so much fun out and about but at the end of the day it was always so nice to go back to their home. Nicole can COOK! We had such yummy food at their house and out and about in Texas. I also have to mention the fudge. I think our favorite was Matt's pick. Tiger butter! Yum yum.
I got to meet a few of Chris' friends. Mark and Kevin are former (hopefully future) co workers. I met Shawn and Kathy Rutledge. They were all very nice and friendly.
Matt and Nicole were nice enough to run me by a Hobby Lobby for some "Texas material". While there I was telling Nicole that being in a Hobby Lobby makes me feel like home. So if we did move there, and I got home sick, I could just go shopping at Hobby Lobby to feel better.
Downtown
San Antonio
This it a monument in the
middle of an intersection
downtown.
The grounds around the
Alamo are beautiful. We
spent more time walking
around the grounds and
other buildings then we
did the Alamo. It even
sprinkled on us while
we were there.
My handsome man!
His hair does really
well in the humidity!

For some reason Matt looks
more wealthy when he's
getting money
from a wooden ATM.
Sure looks like Hudson likes Texas! |
