Another St. George weekend

I had a four day weekend so we decided to head to St. George for some family time. Chris and I also got and opportunity to go to the temple with my sister Sheena and her husband Nick. Mom and Dad watched all of our little ones with Nautica's help. It was great to get out without the baby!

The weather was not what you'd expect of April in St. George, however Sunday the sun came out and the drive home Monday was beautiful.

Chris and I went out to mom's green house and took a few pictures for her. She spends so much time out there and she has never taken a photo of all of her hard work. So here are some:

When you want them, you WANT them!

I had a craving for my mom's homemade rolls. Since mom lives 300 miles away and doesn't have the time to bake for me I just called her and asked for her recipe. As much as I like to bake, I don't do well with bread or dough of many kinds. My first question to my mother was, "do you think I can handle this?" She told me that this recipe came from my great, great, great grandmother. She suggested that if they could tackle this back then I should be able to handle it...............

The dough is pretty sticky. There were a few curse words!

AHH so golden brown

and here is a roll with aunt Sheril's chicken salad recipe.
I was so excited they turned out! I needed a little bright successful spot in my day today. My husband and I have had a few already. They are so good warm.

Time for sewing is hard to find these days!

While in St. George I started a couple of sewing projects! I needed some embroidery done and my sister and mother have an embroidery machine. I finished Hudson's blanket there. Tonight Chris watched the baby for me so I could get some time to finish another car seat cover. (Not that I need more)

This turtle material was so cute I couldn't resist it! This blanket is quite big for him. Hopefully he will still like it when he's older.
I thought it would be cute to put his name on it.
I've heard that black and white designs are good for baby's developing eyes. If not, it's cute anyway.
Thought I would be a little different and put his last name on it.

This blanket was easy. Roll hem on the edge and it's done. Super soft and cozy.
