Currently rocking Minnesota.

When I left Minneapolis in December of 2007, I never imagined I would have reason to go back. There's nothing wrong with Minnesota. Just "been there, done that". I never thought I would leave Utah and move to Texas either. Life is funny when you stop and look back on the comfort zone you have stepped out of. Well with a great new job I had to travel to Minnesota for some training. I'll admit, I had a rather difficult time getting geared up for this trip. San Antonio was in the 70's all last week and let's be honest, one of the only things I could remember about Minneapolis/St. Paul was COLD COLD COLD! To my pleasant surprise I noticed that I could not see any snow on the ground as we descended from the sky! I'm pleased to say it's been in the 50's here today.  I know I'm wishful thinking, when I would like it to be like this for the duration of my stay. (Crossing fingers) Oh well, I do have Florida to look forward to at the end of the month and before I know it I will be complaining about the high humid temperatures in Texas.

I do really miss my husband right now! He's such a good daddy. Many people asked me if I was worried about leaving Chris by himself with the baby. My response was, Nope! He's such a hands on daddy, I know he knows how to do everything the baby needs without me. I'm very blessed to have that kind of help from my husband. Not every woman is as lucky.

Chris turns 40 this year. That's a big birthday. I have no idea what to do for him or what to get him. Any ideas?

He's 1!!!!

It's hard to believe it's been a whole year! Last Christmas I couldn't wait for him to get here. Now He's walking. He's so much fun right now. He's so much more interactive. He has said his first word. DUCK.  He's so happy in the morning. He's over loaded with toys since Christmas and his birthday are so close. He jabbers a lot these days. Sometimes we wonder if he is singing. We started meats a month ago and just switched to cows milk. Now to try peanut butter and honey. He has six teeth. We need to get him in for his 12 month check up then we'll know how much he weighs. Everywhere we go he gets the attention of someone and they always come up to talk to him.

We had  a fairly simple birthday party. Cupcakes and ice cream. A few friends and some family and two computers. We are so grateful for Skype. Nautica, Grandma and Grandpa Thompson were able to join the festivities this way. We sang happy birthday to him then Chris helped him blow out his candle. He's a rather cautious little fella. He didn't go crazy on the cupcake. Chris helped him get started. He really didn't make too big of a mess! He really liked all of his presents!

Getting read for his party.
Just a few of the nick names we have for him.

Baby's first Christmas season

Little buddy loves the lights everywhere and of course the ornaments everywhere. He loves the things hanging from the ceiling of every store we go into. We have a gate around our tree. It's metal and taller than the baby. He stays out but we can still enjoy the beauty of it. I took a few photos of out little man playing with some extra lights we have. He loved it!
